Trattoria Ceriati (Salsomaggiore Terme)
On the hills of Cangelasio: homemade fresh pasta and seasonal mushrooms in summer and autumn.
A country trattoria in the hills of Cangelasio, above Salsomaggiore Terme, in a quiet position surrounded by greenery. The Ceriati is a traditional family-run restaurant where the cooking follows the seasons closely — this is the place to come for porcini mushrooms in summer and autumn, when they appear in tagliatelle, risotto, frittata and as a side to grilled meats.
The rest of the year, the menu covers all the Piacenza-Parma classics: anolini in brodo, tortelli d'erbetta, pisarei e fasö, tagliatelle, braised and roasted meats, and homemade desserts. The pasta is handmade and the portions are generous. Prices are reasonable for the quality.
The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious — wooden tables, a country setting, no fuss. It's the kind of place where you go to eat well without ceremony. Outdoor seating in summer. Parking available.
Indicative price: around €25–35 per person. Closed Tuesdays. Reservation recommended, especially during mushroom season.
