Trattoria L'Oca Bianca (Scipione)
Country trattoria with refined atmosphere in the valley below Vigoleno. Renowned for goose dishes.
A refined country restaurant in the hamlet of Scipione I Passeri, on the hills between Salsomaggiore and Vigoleno. L'Oca Bianca is famous for its goose-based specialities — a rare focus that sets it apart from every other restaurant in the area. The setting is elegant and carefully designed, with rustic-modern interiors, a visitable wine cellar, and outdoor terrace with views over woods and meadows.
The menu combines traditional Emilian cooking with a strong goose identity: goose salumi (salame, mortadella, prosciutto d'oca) served with torta fritta, mezzelune with goose ragù, roast duck and guinea fowl, goose liver with Calvados butter, and fiorentina steak. Alongside the goose specialities, you'll find all the local classics: tortelli d'erbetta, anolini in brodo, cappelletti, pisarei e fasö. The dessert selection includes sbrisolona with crema pasticcera, tiramisù and tortino al cioccolato. The wine list is impressively deep, with a strong selection of local and national labels.
This is a step up in refinement and price from the simpler trattorias — closer to a restaurant experience, ideal for a special dinner or a romantic evening. Wheelchair accessible, credit cards accepted, free parking.
Indicative price: €50–60 per person. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Reservation recommended.
