Bollicine & Tortafritta (Vigoleno)

Bollicine & Tortafritta (Vigoleno)

Castle views and authentic Emilian cuisine: charcuterie boards with fried dough, pisarei e fasö, Colli Piacentini wines.

A welcoming restaurant right in front of Vigoleno castle, with a terrace offering one of the most scenic dining views in the area — the medieval walls and towers lit up at sunset are unforgettable. Run by Gabriele and Valentina Besenzi, who brought their 13 years of experience in gastronomy from Salsomaggiore to this former village school.

The name says it all: the house specialities are torta fritta with cured meat boards and good local wines. The torta fritta is light and freshly made, the salumi are top quality (culatello, prosciutto, coppa), accompanied by excellent homemade giardiniera and polenta fritta. The menu extends to handmade pisarei e fasö, tortelli d'erbetta, tagliatelle, and main courses like faraona ripiena (stuffed guinea fowl) and fiorentina. Homemade desserts including panna cotta and semifreddo. Good wine list featuring local Colli Piacentini labels.

The restaurant seats about 60 between the bright indoor dining room and the enclosed veranda. Modern and well-kept, with a younger, more contemporary feel than the traditional trattorias. Wheelchair accessible, dogs welcome, credit cards accepted. Free parking nearby.

Indicative price: €20–30 per person. Closed Mondays and Wednesdays. Reservation recommended.
